The only word that can describe this restaurant is "Rip off". My family and I went for a walk in Lincoln Rd. Strangely it was a chilli night so il bolognese was perfect for a quick dinner since they have nice warmers outside. I ordered a lasagna which it was good and big size. My husband ordered crab cakes which were pretty good as well and he also enjoyed his clams. However the service was HORRIBLE. The food was extremely OVERPRICED. They charged us 3 dolars for every coke refills; when the coke was coming from the tab. I never had that before. I would not reccomend this place to anybody!!!

Tonight's visit was an epic fail. Not enough help. Don't seat the customers if you can't serve them. We waited 40 minutes for water. The waiter tried but it was too far gone. I felt the food was salty. Hope your experience is better than ours. By the time the food came we lost interest. Don't know if I'll be back.

4 Stars for the food 4 Stars for the location 2 Stars for the service There are many places to eat in this area and numerous Italian restaurants but we chose here to eat tonight. The 25% off offer helped with our decision as well! We were a party of 4 and had to wave down our server, D Alessio, who was pretty non existent all evening. The only good thing about this was that we were not rushed whatsoever. We ordered the app Focaccia Rosmarino (nothing special), Tropical Salad (the best thing that I have eaten in ages!! It comes with almost a dozen shrimp perfectly cooked chilled shrimp), Tagliolini Gamberu (again a lot of shrimp) and Fett Alfredo with Chicken (which smelled outstanding). Since there are so many places to eat in this area I will most likely chose somewhere else to try BUT the tropical salad will bring me back here someday. I was unhappy that they lowered the side awnings the we were sitting directly underneath without warning and the excess water spilled on us and they flopped it right along the backs of our chairs. Our party had to move our table ourselves so we had a bit of space. There is definitely a great lack of guest service by the staff. I had the feeling that once they had you seated you lost all attention, or at least it was the feeling we had from our server. The bill came to $96, $21.75 discount, there was only a suggested 17% tax listed on the bill of $12.82 so a total of $92.93 for our bill. ((We each chose tap water as a beverage.) ***after reading the reviews apparently they offer gluten free items that we were never told about***

I ordered a Caesar salad and it was packed with hard boxed croutons!!! It was a crouton salad with a side of lettuce!!! Aaaaand they served the dressing in a plastic ramekin!!! WTH?!?! This is Lincoln road not some fast food joint! The Service was mediocre... Meh.... Wouldn't come back...

The food was OK. Nothing special. We had pasta. It was cooked al dente, the sauce was fine (a bit on the salty side), but it didn't look inviting at all. The pizza looked better, so I wish I had chosen that instead. It was however pricey and as quality and price did not match, it only gets three stars from me.

Food was terrible: the bread was dry, the steak was overcooked and the pasta was below expectations. Moreover, service was rude. Never coming back to this tourist trap ever again.

This is one of the best restaurants i've been to in Lincoln Road. The food was real italian and the service top notch. We also took advantage of the happy hour and got a great price for all. Definetely a restaurant I will recomend to my friends.

Food was fair. Service was horrendous. Waiter would be gone for 20 minutes and then come back with 20 drinks for five tables. He would then disappear for another 20 minutes. My overpriced salad came out with my entree. Who needs it then? My hot entree would then be cold. When I said something I got a condescending "What will make you happy?" You are told gratuity is not included and it is stamped on there in red it is not included. I then saw they added $10 after the total. I asked what is that. "That is how you do the gratuity because we don't include it." Really? It is not included but you put it on there to "show me" how to do it? Oh my God! I hate places that try to rip off tourists and give Miami Beach a bad name. Pick somewhere else!!!!!!

Came here only for dessert with a friend earlier this month. We ordered the key lime pie and the creme brulee and it was AWFUL. My key lime pie was EXTREMELY SWEET (not in a good way at all) it also tasted like a boxed pie :( my friend's creme brulee tasted like some burnt sugar. Just awful. And to top it all off the server had one MAJOR attitude. We were only ordering dessert but hey there was no one else really there so what's the big deal we are still customers! And then at the end he said "REMEMBER THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE TIP) uhhh so you mumbled away and didn't talk to us the whole damn time but when you do miraculously speak this is your choice of words? Seriously? I would suggest avoiding this place especially when there are so many other choices available!

Terrible the service was ok but the food was nasty I got the skirt steak and no flavor at all....!!! maybe pastas are better but no recommend for locals

Do not ever believe on their happy hour deal. They give you 50% discount on food, but their drink price is almost double. They don't put the price for the drink on the menu, and charge $7 for a bottle of bud light, $17 for a glass of margarita. What a nonsense.

The location and atmosphere are great! The service is mediocre. As a costumer I will expect the Italian restaurant with the current prices to have high quality food made to order. That's not the reality, the food is not made to order and is reheated. I'm extremely disappointed with the lasagna I ordered, it was extremely hot on the outside and cold in the inside completely not acceptable for the price. Avoid this tourist trap and find a better restaurant with great food and good service.

For the price and location (Lincoln Road), I was unimpressed with the food. I had just wandered around Art Basel for 6+ hours and my friends and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice italian meal. Unfortunately, my food was pretty bland. I ordered the Penne Arrabbiata and felt like it was thrown together. My friends ordered the chicken parmesan and it was really good, but it is such an easy dish to make. On a side note, the waiters were very friendly and the bread was really fresh. The bruschetta was the same quality as something you could find at any local chain restaurant.

Another drag you in off the street. The special was good however the portions were tiny...now I know all those people stay so skinny in Miami!! I had to get a Hamburger after eating here! The food was very tasty.

(Reviewing the bar service and operations during event.) Went here with a couple of friends during Halloween night 2014. Apparently, there was a private party inside by the bar but no signage depicted that. When we arrived, we went straight to the indoor bar to order but we were ushered outside to the outdoor bar that didn't accept credit cards. (Please note that most of my group had cards). We came back in and tried to explain this so that we could order inside and the bouncer with dreadlocks was pretty rude to our group. A couple of the people in our group left without purchasing anything because of his attitude. It took a considerably long time to purchase because they only had one kiosk (similar to MICROS) at the bar for purchasing with credit cards. I stood and waitied for 8-10 mins after I received my drink to receive the check. There were three bartenders and one machine. It was an awful experience. If you're ever considering grabbing a quick drink here during any kind of holiday or event don't waste your money or your time. No customer service skills were present the night that I visited.

Do not eat here!!! First they advertise that food will be 25%off. Not true. You need to hold a card to be able to be elegible for the discount. Second, food was very bad and third waiter was very rude when confronted about the discount. Very expensive, not worth your money.

Service was decent given that we sat down around 10PM on a Sunday evening. The food, however, left much to be desired. Bolognese is my favorite sauce. One might expect a restaurant with bolognese in its name to have amazing sauce. I was disappointed. The sauce was salty and had the consistency of tomato paste, as if it had come from a can. My dining companion's dish was not much better.

This eatery is located off Lincoln Rd. where all the shops are. A few friends and I were just looking at the menu when the hostess offers 25% off anything on the menu except for their desserts. From past reviews, they said the hostess offers different discounts to lure customers in. We made sure our waiter took the discount off the total. The food is pretty pricey, even just for the starters. The eggplant parmigiana was excellent. The house salad and pizza were mediocre. The pizza wasn't as hot cause it was served with our friend's eggplant parmigiana. They should wait to cook the pizza. The staff speak minimal English. The outside dining experience is nice, but there are lots of people walking up and down Lincoln Road mall. Be aware of your purse and purchases.

This food was not that great at all! I ordered the shrimp alfredo thinking that an Italian restaurant can't mess that up. Wrong! My own recipe is much better! The noodles were overcooked and had a weird taste. The sauce was very thick and drier than expected, and the shrimp were NOT deveined or cooked long enough. I couldn't even make it halfway through the meal. My husband had the chicken alfredo, and his complaints were the same as mine. Also, the so-called sweet tea? Don't even go there if you want that for a drink. You will be very disappointed. No amount of sugar can salvage that stuff! The good thing about this place was that they have great hours and are open late night, and the staff is very friendly.

I came here with my best friend who was visiting from out of town and was so incredibly disappointed. The service was very poor, we didn't even know who our waiter was for the first thirty minutes we were there. It took twenty minutes for someone to bring us water. Then another twenty for our order to be taken. We ordered the Mango and Avocado Ceviche, which listed fish only but arrived with shrimp. This was problematic because of my shellfish allergy. Shrimp was CLEARLY not listed as an ingredient. To me, this seems like a very big health concern. If I had not have noticed the shrimp... We had to have the hostess track down our waiter, waited another ten minutes and finally had the ceviche sent back. At this point we were so angered by the situation that we decided to just get the check and leave. We waited another fifteen minutes for the check to arrive and then even more for it to be picked up. Our table was obviously being ignored, as we were just two young women seated next to an abundance of families and older couples. We saw other tables being visited four or five times before we were helped. Not okay. Long story short, I will never be coming here again and will be advising everyone not to give them business as well.

Don't waste your time or money. Quality of food is abysmal, at best. Service is poor. Didn't even bother pouring glasses of water upon our arrival. Had to flag down the waiter to removed empty dishes. Just poor. Won't EVER return here.

After strolling Lincoln Road up and down, the "happy hour" (all food items for half the price), lured us to "Il Bolognese". Because the weather was pleasant, we decided to sit outside, watching people and the water fountain. A very relaxing environment. Obviously for our waiter as well, because it took him about ten minutes to show up at our table and take our order, another ten minutes to bring the water we ordered and yet some twenty minutes more until our food arrived. I do not know what took him so long. It did not seem that busy, there were not that many other guests. Food was okay: the Tropical Chicken Salad was one of the best salads I have recently had, but the Gnocchi Quattro Formaggi were bland and the sauce tasted more like flour than like cheese. Quite a deception for a cheese lover like me. The cheese pizza was okay, made from scratch, but nothing fancy like some herbs added to it. We finalized our lunch with a slice of Key Lime Pie, which was quite delicious. However, the whipped cream was melting away by the time it reached our table, and the mango purée decoration sort of killed the lemon flavor (I first thought that the waiter had brought us mango pie instead). It took us 15 minutes before we finally got the bill we had asked for, and another five minutes until we were granted the 50% discount we had been offered (we were only given 25% first). Conclusion: You need a lot of time and patience when eating at Il Bolognese. Definitely go for lunch as dinner prices - without the discount - are exaggeratedly high.

This is what you get when you don't check Yelp. My husband and I were out all day today and unfortunately found ourselves not only in South Beach, but on Lincoln. As locals, we know to avoid that area and typically do. However, today hunger struck us and the nearest restaurant (we were literally a foot away from it) appeared. First warning sign, the whole menu is 25% OFF. I have never even heard of a place doing this because you should always stand up for the food you prepare and serve. Second warning sign, buy one, get one drinks that they were trying to pass off as "happy hour" it was definitely not happy hour time due to the fact is was extremely early in the afternoon. Sadly, our hunger got the best of us and before we knew it we were seated. Our "waiter" who turned out to be the manager (not sure if that is true or not, his words, not my impression) took our drink order. Already knowing that I was in the land of the unknown, I decided that I needed some serious alcohol to deal with whatever was coming next. After waiting a really long time for one alcoholic drink and a bottle of sparkling water said "manager" took our order. By my second drink roughly twenty minutes later, we began wondering where our order was. By thirty minutes later, our manager in question appeared full of excuses about the whereabouts of our order. What I got from his accent was something along the lines of "the kitchen is not working, the order needs to be written down and given to them, it will be out in two minutes" Two minutes? I do not EVER want to hear that out of the mouth of any manager, waiter, staff member or anyone else that works in the restaurant industry unless it is fast food. Then again, if this was fast food, I would have already dined by now. After ten minutes, I got up. I walked over to the hostess and told her to find this so called manager. I wanted to pay for my drinks and leave seeing as at this point it seemed as if the idea of food was a distant fading dream. By the time I walked back to the table and sat down, my husband was so frustrated that he told me to come on, we are going to find this manager. Upon entry, the manager was doing who knows what with the machine. It honestly seemed like he never touched a piece of technology in his life. Once he noticed our presence, he practically begged for us to return to our table ensuring that he will take care of everything and that any drinks are on him. I told him that not only he has taken far to long to notify us of any issues, he has waisted my time. Yet, before I knew if he convinced my husband and I to sit back down... maybe it was the alcohol that allowed such a ridiculous thing to happen. When the food finally did arrive, I can now say that I wish that it never did. I ordered what most people would consider a "safe dish" because I really did not want to test this unfunctional kitchen with anything that actually seemed like it might take a chef to make. I order the Chicken Milanese which is essentially breaded chicken served with fries and a small plan salad. Seems completely safe right? WRONG! So very very wrong. Eating this dish made me think one of two things and believe another. The first thought was that this chicken must have lived a terrible life. The second thought was that this chicken may be past it's expiration date. The belief; this chicken was HIGHLY over cooked, so much so that it almost seemed undercooked due to it's texture. By the time my husband and I arrived home we both were highly sick in our stomaches. There's not enough pepto-bismol to save us.

I came here with a friend because we were walking by and there was a special of 1/2 off all entrees. To begin with the service was friendly. They weren't fast enough that we felt rushed but they weren't slow enough that we got impatient. The ambience was great too, it was nice and relaxed. In essence, no complaints about the service and ambience. One reason I'm taking off a star is because the prices are waaaaaaaaay too high. I don't mind paying a lot of money for a lot of food but the portions were too small for such a high price which was disappointing. Even with the 1/2 priced special two courses came out to $33 and change, think about it... The reason I'm taking another star off is because although the food was good (there's no doubt about that), there was nothing special about it. We got the 4 cheese pizza and the Alfredo pasta (to add chicken or shrimp was extra). The 4 cheese pizza I get it, 4 cheeses that's it. But like I said it was overpriced and I feel like I could've had a better pizza for a lot less and get a lot more elsewhere. The Alfredo pasta was just that: Alfredo and pasta. They didn't add spices or vegetables. You would think for an expensive plate it would have a little more (nope). I was very disappointed with the food, I left hungry and poor.

Food was over cooked. A professional chef wouldn't have left the meat to come out of the kitchen if there was quality check. The lamb was over cooked, dry and lacked taste. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut the meat. Struggled with that too. Wouldn't recommend this place.

  • Greg R.

Service was horrible, the food was overpriced and of poor quality, and before I sat down the hostess informed me of 25% off all food items, when the check came there was no discount applied and it was an ordeal trying to get it. Additionally, the drink I ordered was $4 more expensive then I was told. It was already $13 for a small mojito! STAY AWAY from this place!

While walking along lincoln road my boyfriend and I noticed this restaurant was offering 25% off on everything on their menu... the menu looked decent so we tried it out. I got the prosciutto pizza (gluten free) and it wasn't cooked all the way- doughy and messy. My boyfriend got a normal cheese pizza and liked it. The service was okay. The host and waitstaff were so concerned with trying to get customers to sit at their restaurant, they didn't pay their actual customers much attention. This was an okay spot to grab lunch but I wouldn't go back.

Don't bother with this place. The hostess reeled us in with the lunch specials and a 2 for 1 drinks special. Service left much to be desired. Took about 15 minutes for our waiter to come to our table, another 5 before our (filtered?) water came, and another 10 for the bread. During this time the waiter reaffirmed the 2 for 1 drinks special multiple times. Food was bland and incredibly overpriced for what it is. Go to the Olive Garden for better food and service. When the bill came is when it really got interesting. I was charged for both $13 drinks, as well as added gratuity (for a party of two?). When I questioned the 2 for 1 drink special he then changed the story saying that the special means the second round of drinks is free. This is not what 2 for 1 signifies - anywhere! Waited 15 minutes for him to remove one drink from the bill and another 10 for him to return with my change. Sucks that gratuity was included as it was not deserved. Stay away!

In Lincoln Road, prepare for an expensive meal ... and this place is no different. The service is average. They brought an Italian meat and cheese appetizer platter priced at $50 which wasn't worth it in flavor. I had a Veal Milanese which was delicious and portion was generous. Plenty of outdoor seating and people watching is a plus. If you plan on an outdoor dinner at Lincoln Road ... this place is ok.

Too bad you can't give zero stars. We went for lunch, around 1:00--didn't seem terribly crowded, but the service was horrible. First, it took about 15 minutes just to get drinks ordered. Waiter never brought bread or the drinks--I had to go to the bar myself to get them. Once the food arrived, it was just OK. The gluten-free pizza was a soggy mess. The food is WAY overpriced, and the worst part is that the tip is included in the bill, even though we basically had no service to speak of. And trying to actually pay the bill was a challenge--my wife told the hostess that we were going to just leave without paying, so that got their attention. I can't believe this place can stay in business with so many other options nearby. Do yourself a favor and find another place to eat on Lincoln Road.

We were strolling Lincoln St checking out the food options and passed this restaurant. After walking a bit and checking out several places we turned around and headed back to this one. We wanted to sit outside and they gave us a table for two, the atmosphere is nice and you can watch the foot traffic while you eat.... the tables are very close together though. The waiter was nice and friendly and we ordered two small Mai Tai's, when he brought them out the bar tender had made large ones instead so we got them for the small drink price, no complaint there..... at $13 for a small drink still pricey, but very good and pretty strong. We didn't have to wait very long for the food and it was okay. I think we ordered... cannelloni??... it was baked and came in a round dish, very cheesy, decent flavor, not terrible and not spectacular but good sized portions, neither one of us could finish it. This place is kind of expensive for what you get but the staff was friendly and we liked the patio dining... and we were on vacation, so live it up, right!

Great restaurant on Lincoln Rd. We are locals but didn't notice so far this restaurant and decided to try for dinner last night!! It was really surprise that somebody (beside "Meat Market" and "Quattro") can deliver great dining experience! Service, ambiance, affordable prices along with the good food, going to make us to come back again soon!!!

This was an accidental stop. I was shooting for Zeke's after an awesome day at the Apple store. (time to celebrate) alas, wrong day. I turn around and checked the menu.......then those sweet little words were said " a free glass of wine." It was a house wine but fairly good for the unexpected afternoon sip. I was hungry, the service was prompt and attentive. The menu was interesting and I choose a pizza. They were quite accommodating and allow me to "mash up" two different pizza (awwwhhh I just wanted the wild mushrooms). They didn't bat an eye. As for the pizza, the ingredients were fresh and yummy. The italian sausage (that he recommended) was quite tasty. As much as I love thin crust, I found this one to be a little too thin? or was it not crispy enough? Not sure but it struggled to keep up with the toppings. Even with the fold method (as if there is another way)

Came here on a first date. The waiter scammed us with his dish recommendation tricking us into ordering two 60 dollar dishes which were terrible. The bill came out to around 150 dollars. The waiter even wrote in a 30 dollar tip for himself into the receipt? I scratched out the tip but I was still charged for it on my bank account. What kind of sick bastard does that? NEVER go to this restaurant.

Stay away from here. They really need a new chef, its difficult to take such great ingredients and make crap out of it. The food is absolutely tasteless and plain. There are plenty of restaurants around, don't waste your money or calories.

So now I've been back to this place about a million times (okay that may be exaggerating a bit), for their surf and turf meal. I LOVE IT!!! That cook should be given an award for that grilled lobster, incredible mashed potatoes and tender red meat!! Seriously - award winning. And in an effort to provide full disclosure - I did have a major problem with my dinner one night, and I can say that management rectified it, made sure I was satisfied, and has made sure I was satisified with every successive meal since - more than I could have ever imagined. It was only about my serving of mashed potatoes - and I get more of those delicious potatoes than most humans can possibly eat!!! LOVE IT!!! I think it's important to note that they do serve their meals in special dishes that make the dining experience more enjoyable. Most places will slap a plate of food in front of you - but this place usually services your meal on some special pan, pot or grill that makes your meal feel more special. This is the ABSOLUTE BEST TASTY MEAL DEAL you will get in all of Miami Beach (see previous review!). And I appreciate the excellent service I have consistently enjoyed. Nice job guys :)

The ambiance was lovely but the food was mediocre at best. Chewy, stale bread. Lettuce in salad was room temperature (not cold, fresh and crunchy that would be reasonably expected of a salad). Olives in Greek salad tasted like they were from a can (they could spring for a few nice kalamata olives?). The shrimp on the salad were cooked fine... I wouldn't go back.

I stumbled upon this place, and boy am I glad I did! My mom and I were making our way to Art Basel but hunger struck before getting to the convention center, and there was no way we were gonna leisurely admire art with two grumbling bellies. My mom was in the mood for Italian, and I was looking forward to anything BUT Nexxt Cafe and sushi. As we casually strolled by searching for a place to eat, a friendly waiter greeted us and next thing I know my mom was leading the way to a table tucked away in the back corner. Now, the food selection isn't extensive as some other places might be, but for us it was familiar yet different enough that we wanted to stay. Before I forget, when the bread basket came out, they were not stingy at all. We must have got over 10 slices for just two people! (side note: I LOVE bread, and white rice, and dessert... sorry, I digress). I had a hard time picking a dish b/c I really wanted ravioli and it wasn't on the menu, but the waiter suggested the cappelletti with peas and prosciutto. Mom was debating between the risotto and the farro shrimp. The farro shrimp won. I remember the waiter informed us that they charged $1 each for flat and sparkling water which I thought that was strange since flat water is free (no?), but at least he told us about as opposed to finding out once it was time to pay. It took a while for the food to come out but when it did, the presentation was nice. My cappelletti came in an iron cast skillet, nice and hot, while my mom's came in oval-looking pan. The food was DELICIOUS! Both dished were well-prepared; my mom mentioned how there was just enough shrimp and I felt the same with my dish. Once we were done, someone brought out all the desserts they offered. The desserts come in shot glasses- how cute is that? Again, to no surprise, the tiramisu and the lemoncello were divine. As full as I was, I could have had 2 more tiramisues if he would have offered it. Our whole experience there was so relaxing and delicious that I would love to return and try their other dishes. Comparing the service you receive at some of the restaurants on Lincoln Rd, this place is the best. They're attentive without standing over your shoulder every 2 minutes, and the food is great.

My friend and I ate here on our first night in Miami. It had been a long day. Up at 4am to get to the airport on time, in Miami by 10 and on the beach by 1pm. We were starving and wandering around Lincoln Rd staring at my Yelp app trying to find anywhere with more than 3 stars. It was difficult. So we settled on this place because the prices were the lesser of many evils. The service was very fast, the food was hot and I was pumped because..well...food. I had the lasagne and it was good! Granted, the last time I was in Italy I ate lasagne at every turn comparing and contrasting, so I'm kind of a jerk about it. I mean, reread that last sentence, I'm a lasagne snob with the worst of 'em. But this was pretty good, I think I was just so hungry I would've eaten anything. I'd give this place 3.5 stars if I could. The prices were a little steep, but that's true of everywhere in that area.

The food was decent but it's just not worth it. When you buy something, it's assumed that the thing you're buying is worth more to you at that moment than the money you spent on it. In this regards, Il Bolognese fails miserably. The service was below average (the waiter was snooty and forgot our drinks), the ambiance and decor is lacking, and the food is just not that great. The food was okay, they just need to cut the price by about 25% just to make it comparable to similar food at another restaurant.

I was very skeptical: located on the tourist contaminated Ocean Drive, a so-called Italian restaurant ( usually more American than European) and we had a coupon with 20%. But we became positively surprised: they even spoke Italian, served excellent seafood and wine, accepted our coupon without discussion and treated all guests around amiable. We suggest Salmon/Red Snapper (34$), Pinot Grigio (40$), Key Lime Pie (8$), genuine Espresso (3$)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
